Advanced Graduate Group

The Gestalt Center of Long Island's One-Year Graduate Program

The Advanced Graduate Group, open to graduates of the GCLI’s Certificate Training Program only,  has been formed in response to graduates’ and graduating students’ numerous requests to the Center to offer an advanced program to continue their Gestalt therapy education and training. The program focuses on helping you maintain the “edge” between Gestalt theory and philosophy and its application to clinical practice. The design of the program includes: hands-on supervised sessions (therapist/client/supervisor) with participants assuming all three roles, theoretical emphasis, working with specific diagnosis and issues, and on-going case management.

We will delve into working in the Gestalt therapy model with difficult diagnosis’s such as post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, dissociative-identification disorder, eating disorders, and more. You will learn skills specific to Gestalt therapy in working with the body, working with couples, spirituality, transference and counter-transference. We will devote time to management and supervision of clients in individual practice.

LCSW/LMSWs Earn 24 CE Hours.  NBCC members Earn 24 Clock Hours

The group will be facilitated by many of the training staff who will rotate throughout the year.

Admission is open to all graduates of the Gestalt Center of Long Island. The group will be limited to a maximum of 10 participants to ensure an in-depth training and supervision experience.

The cost of this year-long program is $950.00 (Early Registration By Oct 2  / $1,000.00 Regular Registration After Oct 2).. The Graduate Group meets monthly for a three hour session (10am – 1pm). Commitment to the entire year’s program is required.
